Of Paris, forex and carrot cake.

    When was the last time I actually sat down and did a proper blog post? I really can't remember *shrug* I have officially moved to PAsirRIS. Everything have been spinning so fast since the past 2 months.  Eid? Not much pictures to show, nothing to share. period.

    Initially, I felt like a pancake on the road, run over by life’s madness. Hmm...talking about pancakes, it has been so long since I made pancakes. *side track* Anyhoo, despite the initial madness, the "trying to adapt period", things are settling back into a routine around here. I have a bigger kitchenette here! Oh....I have a new toy too!!  Heels over head in love with it!

Isn't she gorgeous? She's a temptress(as quoted by NK). Everyone has their eyes on her! My brothers included! But I'm not giving her away. She is here to stay.

   Pretty right? (",) Thanks to a dear friend who insisted that Maya's Kitchenette gets her own dot com. He even paid for it! Thank you! It was really sweet of you. Hmm...err...I was just wondering, would you be paying for next year too? *sheepish smile*

   Anyways, I have not been baking very much. I have been pretty selective with orders. 1 of the main reason is, me and a good friend aka TM are together running an online web portal for Forex Training/Forex Education, Managed accounts and Forex Signals. I came up with the idea and designed the website too,  a couple of years ago. Reason was simple. Tm is an awesome awesome forex trader and I am not exaggerating. Tm who holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Paris, France and most of the time he reads the market as if he runs them! I was amazed as his accuracy that I felt it would be a letdown if he does not make full use of his mad trading skills. As a struggling trader back then, I was also just so sick of scamming forex signal providers plus the absurd forex education fees that most companies charged.

   Charting Today was founded to reach out to traders who needed a genuine signal provider plus a proper coach that actually teaches you trading in a live room and not just via ebooks that are usually barely informative. It has been more than a year now and we are busier than ever. We have subscribers/students from all over the world, including USA, UK, France, Germany,  Kuwait and lots more. It has been an amazing journey so far and I know, we will take Charting Today to greater heights because trading is a passion for us, especially TM.    I have seen quite a number of fella bloggers that are trying their hand at forex. I am still learning and I have so much more to learn but if there's just one of advice I can give you, it's this: please educate yourself. To be  a successful forex trader, you need to educate yourself. There is no short cut to this. You have to start understanding the charts and you have to love analyzing the charts. Develop a passion for learning and if you do, you will never cease to grow as a trader.

Most people lose in forex only because they do not educate them self enough. Do you know that 95% of traders lose their money? Goes to show, forex isn't a piece of cake. Baking is waaaaayyyy easier. ;)

 

     It is absurd that I was actually planning to share a carrot cake recipe and I ended up rattling on and on!  I really had no intentions to "advertise" *palm face* :p Was just sharing as to what have been going on in my life. I still get emails from readers. Some requesting for recipes, a few asking as to where I have been missing. At times, I feel really guilty that I have almost abandon this blog. Let's hope this carrot cake recipe would kick start this blog to continue to roll. :D

    So back to what this blog is all about. Food! I made this last week and I have to say its pretty darn good. :) Mom said I can sell carrot cake at next year Raya Bazaar. lol. This was wat I used. You can easily purchase it from major supermarkets. It comes in 2 sizes, small and large. I bought the large 1 and it fed 4 of us.

Chai Tow Kuay (Fried Carrot Cake)

Argh...I wished I take better pictures. I need a dslr. Pronto. 

Ingredients:

1pkt Ready-made carrot cake (cut into cubes)

3-4 cloves Garlic (chopped)

2tbsp Chai poh (chopped preserved white radish)

2 tbsp Oil

1 tsp Sesame oil

2 tbsp Light soy sauce. 

2 tbsp Chili paste (Its optional but we liked it spicy!)

4 Eggs

3 stalks Spring onion (chopped)

2-3 tbsp Dark sweet sauce. (start with 2 tbsp and add more if required)

White pepper

Method:

In a pan, heat 1tbsp of oil and fry chopped garlic, chai poh and chili paste till fragrant. Push this paste to the side of the pan.
Add another tbsp of oil to the pan and  pan fry carrot cake till lightly browned.
Spread browned carrot cake evenly apart in pan. Add light soy sauce and half of the dark sweet sauce.
Beat eggs lightly and pour mixture over carrot cake. Let it set a little before stirring.
At this point, you can add the remaining sweet sauce.
At this point, taste. You might need a dash of salt if your light soy sauce has lower salt content.
Drizzle sesame oil and sprinkle pepper and chopped spring onions.
